Wedding photography in Dungog could not have started any better with a midday arrival in the main street of Dungog to witness Michael in the final stages of his preparations at the family home with his proud Mum & Dad looking on.

Next we were off to see Caitlin and Co do the same thing and whilst the family home (where the reception was to take place later on) is stunning in its own right Caitlin took the opportunity of using the local and luxurious surrounds of ‘Gully Falls’.

Onto the church ten minutes down the road and apart from a slight interruption from an inquisitive dog one-hundred-and-thirty guests enjoyed a beaut ceremony in what has to be one of the most picturesque church venues we have ever come across.

Naturally we were not going to miss the opportunity to get plenty of images both inside and outside of such a fabulous location.

But however amazing a location may be it is always the people that make an occasion like this and Caitlin & Michael and their guests ensured we were kept on our toes with original and narrative styled images everywhere we looked. 

Did we mention the exquisite lighting and sunset we were graced with?

Now it wasn’t all about wedding photography in Dungog, far from it in fact. Add locations like Bandon Grove, Chichester Dam and the road from Dungog leading to it and Caitlin’s family home fifteen minutes out of town and the photographic opportunities quickly became limitless.

Whether it was a local stream, random paddock or innocuous part of the road we were blessed with a fun loving group of people, great locations, beaut lighting and the time to relax, enjoy and take it all in.

We love a bride who is keen to go along with our slightly odd requests to stand in the more risky spots (ie: rocky patches in the middle of a creek/stream); it is well worth the effort we think.

Lastly it was onto another random paddock before taking in Caitlin’s family home and property where several marques were situated to enjoy views across the valley and landscape; not a bad place to enjoy the sunset and what was going to be a superb night.

With the fire burning, drinks pouring and amazing food about to be served that was our lot. Thanks for the most amazing day Caitlin & Michael, we loved the entire day, the people, the location, every little detail made the experience amazing for us. Can’t wait to see you again and showcase everything for you.

Dave & Claire’s wedding date is set for October this year and as the images might suggest we cannot wait; they are fun, relaxed and easy going and theirs is a story that a professional wedding studio like ours loves to capture.

With the way things are planned for Dave & Claire’s wedding we decided to look for similar environments to their venues as well as time things around what we are likely to encounter come mid October – whilst a couple might have their own intentions for seeking our Sydney pre-wedding photography services the professional benefits are never lost on us.

Sydney pre-wedding photography.

Taya & Matt & Co, Cypress Lakes, St Patricks Church in Nulkaba and everything the Hunter Valley has to offer was an ideal scenario to be faced with.

As the smiles and laughter suggest Taya & Matt made wedding photography at Cypress Lakes and the like the most excellent experience - great company, handy weather, amazing locations and we were well on our way to a truly memorable wedding day.

And just in case we have not convinced you already the fact that there was more than yours truly jockeying for the best vantage points throughout the day should.

The fact that there is always a story to be told ensures that there is always a story to be documented in wedding photographs and that is one of the most vital and rewarding aspects of every wedding day (at least that’s what we reckon).

The sunset lighting that appears during the final stages of every wedding day always equates to a more intriguing and eye catching image and Taya & Matt’s wedding plans (ie: timing etc) tied in perfectly with what was on offer come April 28 this year.

Wedding photography at Cypress Lakes is not always about photographs on a golf course but sometimes it does offer you that unique perspective.

And just in case the bunker/sunset image above is not a unique enough perspective we will rest our case on these two images – the odd dead tree can be a handy thing sometimes and what is a wedding in the Hunter Valley without the wine bottle and natural timber backdrops.

Aside from all of this ‘unique perspective’ chit chat wedding photography will always revolve around the people and the relationships and we experience and share quality time with on the day – it is about the smiles, the laughter, the odd tear maybe and most of all the complete story being captured through a naturally styled wedding photograph.

Not to mention boys will be boys and that always makes for handy wedding images too!

I know we have spoken already since your wedding day Taya & Matt but thanks again for the most superb, fun, relaxed and photographically rich day to be a part of, the only problem that we had was the fact that it all went by so quickly. This wedding expo is being put together by ‘Wedding Expos Australia’ who are one of Sydney’s favorite bridal fair companies. They have managed over fifty wedding & bridal expos and was established over six years ago, co-ordinating wedding expos across Sydney, Wollongong and the Central Coast.  They pride themselves on being reputable, honest and reliable in the services they deliver to the industry and as an exhibiting participant in at least fifteen of their wedding expos we can assure you that if you are researching anything in the wedding industry to will not regret a visit. If we ever needed an example of why we love photographing weddings, if we ever needed a reason for why we do what we do this would be it – everything about Dee & Ivar’s wedding was amazing – loved it, loved it, loved it!

Firstly the planning and attention to detail was amazing, everything you saw and witnessed brought a smile to your face with its thoughtful and natural application to the overall theme – and what made it even more special was the fact that ALL of it was handmade, put together and presented by the bride and groom (and a handful of dedicated helpers).

Best wedding car we have seen in years, security needless to say was very tight!

The setting (in short) was Dee & Ivar’s 120-acre property in Colo Vale (just outside of Mittagong, NSW) and with a lot of hard-yacca paths, facilities, venues and exquisite locations were created amongst the surrounding native bush.

Everything about this story was exciting to photograph so put such a fantastic couple amongst everything else they had going on and the excitement and happiness was written all over everyone’s faces, including our own.

As you can see we struggled to get a smile out of Dee & Ivar all day, talk about the pin up couple for “in love and deliriously happy”.

Love, laughter, fantastic people, stunning location, attention to detail, champagne = good times for everyone and amazing photographic opportunities in our book!

As if the opportunities at Dee & Ivar’s property were not enough there was the neighbour’s dam…..

………and the property for sale just up the road with its neglected and abandoned surroundings.

Talk about things just getting better and better throughout the day – smiling faces, moody skies and character everywhere you look. Wedding photography in Mittagong made for more photographic opportunity than this half descent photographer could have ever hoped for.

Humbly speaking Dee & Ivar we think there is an award or two sneaking around in your wedding photos – we cannot wait to spend some more time your images.

Now whilst the dam and abandoned property were great Dee & Ivar’s property was pretty handy too with it’s native bush and densely forested areas – throw this beaut couple into that mix and again wedding photography in Mittagong and the like was everything a professional wedding photographer dreams for.

Fancy having this as your backyard?!?! With the changing light photographic opportunity was everywhere we looked. Having the speed of Superman would be handy sometimes; or failing that a one-week long wedding photo shoot would work for us.

Drinks continued to be poured, amazing food continued to be served, open fires continued to burn and the love and laughter continued to ring out around the area well into the night.

Wedding photography in Mittagong.

We have photographed at Allegro a number of times but several things are always changing – the lighting, the weather, the timing and most importantly the people. And it is the people that made it for us here, we had some Polish heritage which always adds something special (we love Polish weddings) but most of all everyone was about enjoying themselves and having fun – from our perspective…..perfect!

We had a beaut church in central Parramatta to work with for the ceremony with high ceilings, natural timbers, balcony level and plenty of room. It wasn’t a bad day weather-wise either with some patchy clouds breaking up the bright sunny conditions.

Think we already mentioned we were always having fun but just in case you thought we were joshin’ you – we think we can rest our case on these shots alone.

And again, it really was a matter of standing back and just letting things occur naturally which for us is the way it should be (ie: as professional wedding photographers we should be seen and heard as little as possible in our book).

After the ceremony we shot five-minutes around the corner and ventured to Lake Parramatta. In some countries you would drive five-hours as opposed to five-minutes to come across a spot like this, we are truly blessed in Sydney with all of the photographic opportunity on offer.

Then there was the quick fire stops at the ‘Bathers Pavilion’ in Parramatta Park along with a cheeky few images outside Michael & Ashleigh’s newly bought first home out the back of the park.

Then onto some Allegro wedding photography for Michael & Ashleigh’s reception which was to start at 6pm (ish) after enjoying an hour of drinks and canapes on the picturesque back balcony.

We enjoyed maybe thirty-minutes or so before the last of the sun light left us for the day – plenty of time really but also a full day is never going to be enough when you consider everything on offer.

The young ones were a great addition to the day and looked gorgeous, behaved themselves to the best of our knowledge and also illustrated just how exhausting wedding days can sometimes be.

The ‘Tradition’ continues……….

And to wrap things up Allegro wedding photography gives you little gems like these with the spot and ambient lighting, couple fun loving people with that and you have a good recipe for the perfect day we reckon.

As we age why is it that we forget how exciting it is to eat teddy bear biscuits? Whatever the reason Travis has enough excitement to fill a bus when it comes to teddy bear biscuits – brilliant!

Whether mucking around in the open gardens or the courtyard and cottage, Sydney portrait photography is about thinking fast and moving even faster – anything else would make it too staged in our book. 

Have we mentioned that Sydney portrait photography is all about moving quickly? Not just for the photographer but for the parents at times as well!

Then sometimes there is a break in the organised chaos of everything, sometimes.

On occasion a mother’s love can be a little too much for a young fella can’t it? “Mummy let me go!”

Honestly, we are friendly, gentle and caring portrait photography people!

Admittedly we are coming from a slightly bias point of view but goodness gracious these are good looking lads! Thankfully the one that balances up the equation is behind the camera.

It was a Thursday from memory and we practically had the blue skies and entire place to ourselves, how on earth we were that fortunate I have no idea but rest assured we will be attempting a repeat performance soon.

Peddling around Olympic Park can be exhausting enough for little legs but so to is running through all of the water and fountains, as little two-year-old Hunter is showing us all here. For the record this time around Riley managed to not wake up his little brother (just!).
