Wedding Photography In Sydney Town

Here is a sneak peek of Alison & Glenn’s wedding that took place last weekend at St Patricks Catholic Church in The Rocks, Lavender Bay on north shore and finally at L’Aqua in Sydney’s Cockle Bay.
We met up with Alison for an hour or so at home in Oatley to photograph the final stages of her preparations before heading off for the ceremony which was being held in the very picturesque St Patricks located in Harrington Street of The Rocks. We enjoyed a beautiful forty-five minute at 2pm and at the conclusion of which we gathered in the enclosed courtyard next-door where plenty of family and group images were captured in among the hugs and well wishes the bride and groom were receiving from their guests.
Around 3.30pm we made our way to Lavender Bay in North Sydney where an impromptu boot party took place kindly supplied by the drivers of the two Cadillacs hired for the day. An hour and a bit later we went back to The Rocks to capture some more wedding photography images in and around the historic lane ways and facades. Due to an increasingly warm and blue skied Sydney day we also took the time to cool off in one of the local watering holes.
Around 6pm we all made our way to L’Aqua where plenty of images were taken documenting the fun and laughter being shared by every guest whilst they enjoyed the drinks, canapés and picturesque views across Cockle Bay. The entire bridal party was formally introduced into their wedding reception shortly before 7pm and among the traditional formalities such as speeches and a cake cutting plenty of candid images were captured showcasing not only the beautiful setting and environment but also the fun that was being enjoyed by all.
In between all of this fun we whisked the bride and groom outside to make use of the setting sun and numerous wedding photography opportunities that exist in and around the Cockle Bay area, in this case the walkway crossing the freeway and the escalators taking you there. Mix those superb locations with a setting sun and you have the makings for some truly original photographs not to mention you have got a very happy wedding photographer.
That was the short run through but obviously there was so much more and so many memorable moments such as the lighting that seemed to pierce the trees in Lavender Bay just when we wanted it to. Naturally there are always the moments that all Sydney wedding photographer’s love, those emotional embraces after a ceremony, the laughter through the reception, a busy dance floor and as always the organised chaos that weddings can sometimes appears to be.
All in all it was a brilliant time encapsulated by a fantastic couple whose main focus throughout the day was to have as much fun as possible, everything a Sydney wedding photographer hopes for. Thanks for the great day Alison & Glenn and I look forward to showing you the hundreds of other images soon.
