Portrait Photography

The best family photographs are not created by asking children to sit still. They are created by giving them the freedom to explore, laugh, cuddle, climb, play and simply be themselves. Every family has its own rhythm. Some children never stop running. Some are shy. Some want to climb every tree they see. Some just want to cuddle Mum. Rather than trying to change those moments … we embrace them.

Our sessions are not about perfect behaviour or perfect smiles. They are about preserving the personalities, relationships and little moments that disappear all too quickly.

Children don’t naturally want to sit on stools. They want to run, jump, throw leaves, collect sticks, splash in puddles, climb rocks and pick flowers. Those little adventures create genuine moments of connection. That is why we photograph families in the incredible outdoor locations we have in and around Sydney. We believe this is an incredibly important aspect of what we do as it allows us to elicit genuine moments of spontaneity that bring a real sense of freedom to our images.

Think of it less as a photo session and more like spending an hour together outdoors. We’ll wander. Explore. Play. Talk. Laugh. There will be moments where we’ll gently guide you but many of your favourite photographs will happen when you’ve forgotten we’re even taking them.
