In short, DC Images is the product of my childhood fascination with any kind of camera and from the mid 1980’s the urge to create photographs that tell stories.

I can honestly say that everything before the photography classes at good ole Rangiora High School were simply there as a way to pass the time. In 1993 I got my first real taste of the darkroom, a place that was all about the creation of something truly original – I was hooked. Then came the tertiary education and ‘Diploma in Professional Photography’, next I spent two years photographing the world whilst touring thirty plus countries and in 2001 I joined the ranks of Sydney photographers in the creation of DC Images.

Briefly:
I love taking photos, pure and simple
I love people
I love the outdoors
I love the ever changing nature of our lives and the chaos it brings
I love photographing the chaos especially
I love my beautiful wife and two gorgeous boys
I love the fact that every day there are better photographs to be taken
I love attending bridal expos but they also drive me a little crazy
I love meeting new people and the experiences those meetings bring
I love all the concepts created and coffees endured
Most of all I love the life that my photography experiences have given me

ABOUT DC IMAGES – about dale casey – simply said I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have this wonderful life where every day I get to experience this collaborative and creative process of story telling.

The contact sheet shown above is from the first photographic assignment I ever had and it was given to me in 1993 whilst attending my first photography class at high school. The teacher asked the class to go out there and photograph the alphabet in what we see in every day life. Sitting here typing this I can still remember the excitement I felt at the time, I was finally doing what I had always wanted to do. I had my camera, the concept, the ideas and I was into it! Thankfully the skills have improved a little.
