Love the smaller wedding mid-week thing, all the best places and people to yourself. Throw in a pictorial shoot before the ceremony, being able to focus on the bride & groom entirely (i.e. no bridal party), a funky sunset, a tear or seventeen along the way and you have the makings of a pretty top shelf afternoon and evening in my book.
I love it when couples, their bridal party and family & friends love playing up, especially when it’s in front of the camera. Seriously, loads of fun!!! So much so, that I ended up snapping more photos than I have at one wedding in over a decade. Good times.
Flamin’ underpants Batman! WE WON! The shoulders went back, the chest puffed out and I’m struttin’ round like I have massive tree trunks under my arms! WINNER! Thank you so, so, so, so, so, ssoooooo much to all the amazing loved-up couples who voted for yours truly. SO DARN COOL!
Here is a quick look at what’s been hitting our social pages lately, ie: Facebook, Instagram, Blog etc. All things considered it kinda sums up why we love what we do so, so much. Awesome people, great times, sunny (and sometimes not so sunny) skies, happy days all round basically.
When the bride keeps telling you one thing in the lead up to her wedding day and that one thing is “I just want the day to be fun” as a professional photographer you know you are in for a great day. Long story short…… Stefanie & Brad’s big day on the north shore of Sydney was all that and then some.
Our hand-crafted wedding albums are all custom designed in-house and handmade in Melbourne, Australia. And as we have just finished designing Corey & Sarina’s wedding album we figured we would showcase how it can all come together here.
So, we designed a 28-paged, 10″x10″ album. A black leather cover with a custom embossing of their names was also chosen. A matt, textured paper type was selected and an emphasis on colour images as opposed to black & white was the preference. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section at the bottom.
Around this time of year I have come to call my Photographer’s Winter. Basically, with things a little quieter on the shooting front June/July-ish this is the time where my camera comes out a little for personal reasons, as pictured here.
Now family getaways are always fun (as are the Blue Mountains I reckon) but from a photography perspective it is super cool to put my family in front of the lens. Not to mention, simply wandering around with the camera over my shoulder and shooting whatever catches the eye is always fun. Yes people, without sounding too sentimental it is a special time behind the camera for yours truly. And being very much an annual event it was only natural I give it a name like the Photographer’s Winter.
It appears my experiences across 700+ weddings have made me a kind of Sydney wedding planning guru, instead of a ‘Master of Ceremonies’ maybe a bit of a ‘Master of Weddings’. I suppose it is only natural. As a professional wedding photographer I work to provide the best solution for everyone throughout the entire day. The couple. Their family. Their guests. The countless other wedding professionals involved (sometimes twenty or more). It can be a lot of boxes to tick and unless you have genuine experience in Sydney wedding planning some key aspects can be sadly overlooked. So, in no particular order here are a bunch of tips straight off the bat that will help guide you in putting together the perfect wedding day.
